[HathawaySchool] SALT Visit Postponed

Dear Parents, 
 
We were notified on Friday at 4:00 p.m. that our SALT visit has been postponed indefinitely. Two members of the team have conflicts that have no easy solutions. While we regret this change in plans and thank you all for all of the work the teachers and you have done to prepare for the visit, we will wait to hear from the RI Dept of Education about the plans for a future visit. 
 
I sincerely believe the real value in this process is what happens in a school as everyone reflectively assesses the teaching and learning and makes the necessary improvements.......... so our students get the best educational opportunity no matter who is coming to visit. 
 
Some of the newness in our building, which we want to share with you, include the displayed Fifth Grade Honor Roll and the self portraits (fifth graders). So, please take a minute to come celebrate these accomplishments with us. 
 
And yes, the meeting for parents with the SALT team on Wednesday will not occur.  
 
We will keep you posted.
