Good Morning,
Just a quick note to remind you that the SALT team (School Accountability for Learning and Teaching) will be here from Monday until Thursday next week. Thanks to those of you who have responded to our request for breakfasts and lunches for them.
Our teachers and students are really ready to show all of the wonderful learnings that are taking place at Hathaway School. We are also looking forward to the professional input from the team members about ways to improve the teaching, learning and support for these efforts. Although I will be told the highlights of the report at the end of the visit, we will not have access to the report for many weeks. At the time we will share it with you, teachers and parents.
Please do all you can to participate in this SALT process by participating in the parents/team meeting on Wednesday, April 29 at 9:00 a.m. in the school library. This is your opportunity to let the team know your thoughts about the education your child is receiving and the supporting structures that are/are not in place to make it happen. There will be coffee and tea and breakfast goodies available for all of you, but especially for those of you who need to get right to work. So far only four parents have responded to the invitation to participate which was sent home in the Hornet. This will not be good for our school. Please call the office to let us know you are coming or email me at martinc at portsmouthschoolsri.org.
Again, thank you for all of your support in our efforts to provide the best education for your children.
Respectfully,
Christina M.Martin, Ed.D.
Principal
