Good Morning, 
 
Well we are doing a bit better with getting the students to school and home again now that the bus drivers, parents and children are familiar with the routes. To save time in getting the children to school, let me ask that all children be ready to board the bus as soon as it arrives. Then we can bring the busses to school on time everyday. 
 
At the end of the day we still have some snags that we are working on improving. All students are called to the busses as soon as the busses arrive. Then they board the bus immediately. Thank you, Parents, for not parking in the area close to the garden because the bus needs to make the turn. 
 
I am concerned about the number of children who are being dismissed before the official end of the day. Classes continue until 3:15 p.m. Our school day has been extended and we need to be in compliance with this mandate from the State. We also need every minute if we are to get our students up to grade level expectations. When we have to call into the classrooms to request that a student be dismissed, the class is disrupted; the teaching and learning is disrupted. 
 
And speaking about dismissals at any times other than regular times....Parents must send in a written note to ask for a change. No changes can be made with a phone call unless it is an emergency. This is for the protection of your children. We must have your signature on the note.  We must have the note at the beginning of the session, i.e. by 9:00 a.m. or by 12:30 for the PM classes. Please make sure your child knows the plan for dismissal because we are having too many children coming to the office to ask how they are supposed to be going home on  a  given day. They will tell us that Mom or Dad said they would call....did they?
